PTO Vision Statement: To extend the Montessori spirit into the community by providing opportunities for parents to be involved with their child's education.

There are so many ways for you to become involved. By volunteering, you may find an opportunity for personal growth, develop new friendships and share the joy of our school with your child.

Want to be involved? Look for sign-up sheets at the beginning of each school year or contact the PTO Facilitator for your classroom. The common denominator in the life of our school is you, the Montessori in the Park parent. Volunteer, participate and share your ideas.

2009-2010 Goals

*100% Membership: Thirty years of research has shown that children succeed when families are involved in their child's education.

Being a member of the PTO does not obligate you to attend meetings or volunteer, however, it is encouraged. Annual dues are only $5.00 per family.

*The PTO is setting a goal of raising $10,000 to go to the new building fund.

Ways to Volunteer:

Fundraising: Montessori in the Park is a non-profit educational institution. Two types of fundraising programs help support MIP. Families and staff work diligently to plan and conduct fundraising programs throughout the school year. These programs help provide the best possible educational environment, programs and experiences for our children:

Join one of our committees and help raise funds for our school.

Community Outreach: Community Outreach programs provide opportunities to expand the teaching and learning that takes place within the school's classrooms.

Yearbook: Help with the layout, take photos throughout the school year, write copy, and sell advertising.

Events:

Fall Picnic: Join us November 20th from 11am - 1pm at the City of Goodyear Park off of LItchfield Road, south of Indian School Road. Volunteers are needed to help organize the picnic: arrange donations, organize serving, set-up and clean-up.

Garage Sale: The 3rd Annual Garage Sale was a great success.  $3205.56 was raised for the new building fund.  Our annual garage sale is sponsored and staffed by the PTO. The merchandise is supplied by families and friends and the proceeds go to the capital campaign.

Restaurant Nights: Held twice monthly, these fundraisers provide an excellent opportunity for socializing and supporting the school. The restaurants donate a percentage of profits from the school's night back to the school.

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon: Thank our teachers and staff for a job well done by contributing food, beverages, and decorations to make the luncheon a success. Assist us in the set-up and the clean-up as well.
